Pure ghee (Desi Ghee) is a class of clarified butter that is originated in India which adds delicious flavour to any recipe.

Butter ghee is just clarified butter that has been for longer time to remove all moisture. In India most of the people use cow ghee which is little less in bad cholesterol compared to buffalo ghee.
